Teacher of English (0.2)

Job Description

Zest Education are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of English to join a secondary school in the centre of Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English to KS4 students, as well as planning lessons and marking student work. This is a part time role (0.2) due to commence in October 2024, and is expected to run until the end of the academic year.

Responsibilities:

– Planning engaging and challenging lessons that align with the KS4 curriculum.
– Creating and implementing differentiated learning activities to cater to the diverse needs of students.
– Assessing students’ progress through formative and summative assessments.
– Providing timely and constructive feedback to students to support their development.
– Monitoring and tracking student progress to identify areas for improvement.
– Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and resources.
– Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding students’ academic progress.
– Ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
– Attending professional development sessions to enhance teaching practice.

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English or a related subject
– Experience teaching English to students at KS4 level
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to plan engaging lessons and assessments
– Proficient in marking and providing constructive feedback to students

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
