Teacher of Art and Design

Job Description

Zest Education are seeking an Art and Design Teacher to join a creative art department at a secondary school in the Bromsgrove area. This is a full-time position at a fantastic school that values and encourages artistic expression. The role is due to commence in October 2024 and will run for a minimum on one term, with possibility of further extension.

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Art and Design or a related subject
– Experience teaching Art and Design at secondary level
– Ability to teach both Art and 3D Design would be beneficial
– Strong knowledge of art history, techniques, and materials
– Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop their artistic skills and creativity
– Excellent communication and organisation skills
– Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in the department

Responsibilities:

– Plan and deliver engaging and interactive art lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students
– Teach a range of artistic techniques and processes, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art
– Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages creative thinking and self-expression
– Assess and provide constructive feedback on student work to support their artistic development
– Collaborate with colleagues in the art department to plan and organise exhibitions and showcases of student artwork
– Stay up to date with current trends and developments in the art and design field
– Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school activities as required

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
