Zest Education are recruiting for a full-time geography teacher to join the wider humanities department at a local Lichfield school. This role is set to start January 2025 for at least one half term.

The school has the ambition to provide every student and outstanding learning experience, this is done by having high standards of achievement and learning. All students are supported through their learning and are expected to treat everyone with respect and understanding.

Subject knowledge of geography up to KS5 is necessary for this role with additional knowledge needed to teach history to KS3. This level of subject knowledge is non-negotiable. The chosen candidate will be working closely with the wider department to plan and mark lessons as well as any preparations needed for exams and in class testing.

The successful applicant will have:
  1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  2. A strong passion for the subject of Geography and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 – KS5
  3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  5. Strong classroom and behaviour management

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
