Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students with social, emotional, and mental health needs? As an SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in their educational journey. Your role will involve providing personalised care and assistance to students, ensuring their well-being and promoting their overall development.

Key Responsibilities:
– Supporting students with SLD in their daily activities, both inside and outside the classroom.
– Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering appropriate lessons and activities.
– Providing one-on-one support to students, focusing on their specific educational and personal care needs.
– Creating a safe and inclusive environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
– Collaborating with the school’s SEND team and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
– Monitoring student progress, recording observations, and providing feedback to the class teacher.

Requirements:
– Proven experience as an SEND Teaching Assistant, ideally within a special educational needs setting.
– Demonstrated understanding of SLD and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
– Ability to provide personal care to students, including assisting with feeding, toileting, and mobility.
– Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
– Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are desirable, but not essential.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated and supportive team, working within a school committed to providing the highest quality education for students with SLD. If you are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of these students and possess the necessary skills and experience, we would love to hear from you.
