Position: Year 4 Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Start Date: September 2024 on a Full Time Basis

Role Overview:

Zest education are looking for a committed and nurturing Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 student with specific educational needs. This is a full-time position, offering a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on a child’s educational journey and overall development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to a Year 4 student on a 1:1 basis, ensuring their individual learning needs are met.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing personalized learning plans and adapting resources to support the student’s academic progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages the student’s social and emotional development.
  • Monitor and record the student’s progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Support the student in developing independence and confidence in their learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the student’s education and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting, ideally within a similar 1:1 support role.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A relevant qualification in Education or Childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ, or equivalent) is desirable.
  • A commitment to the school’s ethos and values, with a passion for fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Pay will start from £75 per day based on references and experience.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
