Learning Support Assistant – Sutton Coldfield

Job Description

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a full-time learning support assistant position in a wonderful school located in Sutton Coldfield. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with children aged between 4-11 who have ASC. Your role will involve providing support and assistance to these students, helping them to access the curriculum and ensuring they have a positive and inclusive school experience. This role will start from September 2024 which will carry on into the new year.

Key Responsibilities:
– Supporting students with ASC in their daily activities and learning tasks
– Assisting with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
– Promoting positive behaviour management strategies and fostering a nurturing learning environment
– Collaborating with teaching staff to create a tailored and inclusive learning experience for students with ASC
– Monitoring and documenting student progress and reporting any concerns to the relevant parties

Requirements:
– Previous experience working with children with ASC is essential
– A genuine passion for working with children and making a positive impact in their lives
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work effectively as part of a team
– Flexibility and adaptability to meet the individual needs of students
– Relevant qualifications and certifications in Special Education or related field are highly desirable

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
