Zest Education is currently seeking a Classroom Support Assistant to join a secondary special educational needs school in Stoke-on-Trent.
As a full-time role, the school are looking for someone who can start immediately. This school caters to students aged 16-25 with a wide range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities, including Autism (ASC), Down Syndrome, Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues (SEMH), Communication difficulties, and other health-related, mental, or physical difficulties. Prior experience in supporting individuals with special educational needs (SEND) is essential.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and implementing individual learning plans for our students. These plans are specifically designed to support them in gaining employment and increasing their level of independence as they prepare for adulthood. You will be responsible for recording and tracking progress and achievements, ensuring that all learning experiences and opportunities are fully documented.
Promoting high standards of welfare, self-care, and independent living skills is also a key aspect of this role. The schools aim is to empower our students and facilitate their personal growth, helping them become more self-reliant and confident individuals.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
