English Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher on behalf of a secondary school in the Walsall region. This full-time position is set to commence in September 2024 and offers ongoing employment opportunities.

The school has recently undergone significant investments in its infrastructure, providing modern facilities and resources to enhance the learning experience. These improvements have fostered a creative and interactive teaching environment, resulting in a remarkable rise in achievement levels. Last year, the majority of students achieved impressive 6’s and 7’s in their GCSE examinations.

As the ideal candidate, you will possess excellent classroom management skills and a passion for educating young minds. It is essential to have a strong subject knowledge in English at both KS3 and KS4, while some knowledge at KS5 would be advantageous.

Key Qualifications and Responsibilities:
– Possession of a PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification, leading to QTS or QTLS accreditation.
– Enthusiasm for the subject of English and a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 knowledge preferred but not required).
– A desire to actively contribute to the English teaching department’s wider initiatives.
– Proficiency in planning, marking, and delivering high-quality lessons (for short- or long-term placements).
– Ability to effectively manage student behaviour and maintain a positive classroom environment.
